Salsa and Ballroom Dance Classes at Rouhi Dance Studio

Enroll in Salsa dancing lessons at Rouhi Dance Studio!  Salsa dancing lessons are held weekly.  New dance session begins December 8. Salsa refers to a fusion of informal dance styles having roots in the Caribbean (especially in Cuba and Puerto Rico), Latin and North America. The salsa dance originated through the mixture of Mambo, Danzón, Guaguancó, Cuban Son, and other typical Cuban dance forms and is danced to Salsa music. There is a strong African influence in the music as well as the dance.

Salsa is usually a partner dance, although there are recognized solo steps and some forms are danced in groups of couples. Improvisation and social dancing are important elements of Salsa but it appears as a performance dance too. Salsa is fun and flirty and socially is a great dance to learn if you like Latino music.

During a salsa dance class you will learn:

• Dancing On1 and On 2 compared
• Common turns
• Salsa styles
• Salsa styling

No food or drink will be allowed in the studio, except bottled water.

PAYMENT: Cash is preferred for single classes. Credit Cards and checks accepted.

CANCELLATIONS: All classes are ongoing, meeting every week (the Studio is not closed).
There is no need for reservations for a tryout class -- Drop-ins are welcome, just make sure you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the class start time.
